Sun Salutations
I used to feel the need to hide me.
This face, this nose, these teeth.
Was told that I would never find peace,
My body was not my own to keep.
And I’m not aware of too many things
But, I know what I know if you know what I mean.
And with hands immersed,
I push away from this earth--
To find my place in the sky,
And through my rebirth,
I discovered my worth,
Now, I give Sun Salutations to the most High.
